How to make an application

  • Complete the application form and submit it electronically. However please make sure you read the checklist below to ensure you have all the required information at hand.
  • Forms can also be obtained from Lindsays Solicitors, Dundee. Telephone 01382 200109
  • Deadline for applications for the Spring meeting is 31st March.
  • Deadline for applications for the Autumn meeting is 30th September.
  • Applications received after that date will be held over until the next meeting.

Award of Grants

  • Successful applicants for the Spring meeting will usually receive an acknowledgement in early May, with the grant being paid by the end of May.
  • Successful applicants for the Autumn meeting will usually receive an acknowledgement in early November, with the grant being paid by the end of November.
  • Unsuccessful applicants will receive a pro forma reply. To reduce administrative costs, feedback as to why an application has been unsuccessful is not usually given.

Successful candidate feedback to the charity

  • Successful candidates must complete and return a brief report to satisfy the Alexander Moncur Trust that the grant has been spent in line with the application.
  • The Alexander Moncur Trust reserves the right to carry out further investigation following receipt of the follow-up report.
  • Should it become clear that a grant has not been used for the purpose specified in the application, the Alexander Moncur Trust will expect a full repayment of the grant.

Application Checklist

Prior to filling out the application form it is highly recommended that you look through the checklist below to ensure you have the requested information that you will be asked for in advance. The following is a list of questions you will be asked during the application process.

  • What is your Charity Number
  • Provide details of charitable purpose and specify what grant will be spent on (limit 2000 characters)
  • What outcomes will the grant deliver? (limit 2000 characters)
  • Details of additional funding being requested (limit 500 characters)
  • Where funding is being requested from multiple trusts or organisations, provide details of proposed action if full funding is not obtained (limit 750 characters)
  • Have you received previous support from us before, and if so how much?
  • Amount of expenditure (turnover) in last year’s audited accounts
  • A copy of last years accounts to upload (PDF) if available
  • Does your charity / organisation receive support from local Government or other public funds, is so provide details.
  • Your charities bank details – name, sort code, account number

Please note that you cannot save your application mid-way and return to it later to complete the process.
